MMA

What is it?

MMA stands for Mixed Martial Arts, and is an art form and discipline in its own right that takes its origins from a mixture of other martial arts, and focuses on a holistic style of fighting. The reason why it’s so effective is because:

  • It teaches you how take your opponent down to the ground
  • It teaches you stand-up fighting
  • It teaches you how to control your opponent on the ground

Combine all techniques and skills learnt from all the other martial arts styles and you have: Mixed Martial Arts.

Who’s it for?

Our classes are open to all ages and experience levels, kids, men and women including people wanting a fun and exciting form of fitness training, to athletes looking to further their martial arts training.

Why MMA?

Students focus on the striking and wrestling side of MMA, as well as the best ways to implement ground striking. In addition to learning effective self-defence techniques, students also obtain a great cardio vascular workout. By training MMA you will gain tremendous self-confidence and learn all round fighting skills as well as self-defence.

MMA does have a combat focus, but in a safe and controlled environment. Fighting in this style not only relieves stress but release aggression. Training MMA also teaches competition and great camaraderie.
