Being diabetic, Jamie understands the limits sickness can place on both your body and mental state. Fitness and Martial Arts have helped him to not only understand what those limits are, but to push them way beyond what he ever thought possible. Starting off with Judo as a child, the falling and rolling skills he learnt have served him well in life and helped him avoid injury from many rough falls and tumbles.
Diabetes left Jamie with severely depleted muscle mass as a child and young adult. Successfully building himself up at the gym with friends and realising how much harder it had been for him led to a much greater confidence in mind and body. And that’s why Jamie decided to become a Certified Personal Trainer and Fitness Instructor to help others gain the confidence he now has despite diabetes. Jamie became a Martial Arts Black Belt in 2011, a huge achievement everyone at ICC is immensely proud of. He is an inspiration to us all and instills that same self-belief in everyone he trains.
